Dear Liberty Baptist Tabernacle Family,

This week several families in our church tested positive for COVID-19. Thankfully, only one person who tested positive was in attendance on Sunday, but they were either asymptomatic at the time, or contracted it while in our service. The rest had already developed symptoms and were taking the appropriate precautions by self-quarantining until they received their test results. Please pray for speedy recoveries!

Despite the uptick in COVID-19 cases, our doors will remain open. I know you are more than capable to decide for yourself whether or not you need to be in attendance. For any in the high-risk categories, as outlined by the CDC, I am asking you to please take this virus seriously. No one should feel pressured to be in attendance! You will not be thought less of if you are not here, nor will you be thought highly of if you are here. I only ask that you have a clear conscience before God – He is your Judge, and not man.

Why am I keeping the doors open? First, because God has not given me peace to close at this time. Second, because we are now five months into this, and thankfully the lethality of this virus has not paralleled what was originally predicted. This is not to say I am not taking this virus seriously! It is obviously still a serious threat for some, but we must recognize that the death rate keeps trending downward. Whether we like or not, most of us will be, or even already have been, exposed to COVID-19 at some point due to so many being asymptomatic. You know your body best and whether or not the risk of attending church outweighs the possibility of becoming infected.

For those who cannot be in attendance right now, please keep tuning in to our livestream services, and please continue to give faithfully. You all have responded so well through this; let’s keep it going and stay positive. We will get through this. God was not surprised by this virus, and if you are His child, then you are in His watch care! Nothing happens to you but what God allows.

Keep our theme verse for this year before you as we press on: Psalm 27:13 “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” May we not faint as we believe to see the goodness of the LORD.

I’m honored to be your Pastor!

Believing to See,
